DESCRIPTION:
LPW - Elgin, Grade 94 with unusual engraved mvt, 11J, 8S, 14K drum style original Dueber HC with scalloped and beaded band, front and rear with beautiful black and white enameled detail, small front shield with initials, cuvette with engraved name, hexagonal pendant, fancy white enamel SS dial with gold foil numerals, floral detail at center along with a ribbon marked "Carrie," SW-LS, gilt mvt with engraved main plate and barrel, s#1886804. Gross weight of assembled watch 42.8 dwt (66.6 g). A very beautiful pendant watch with a delightful combination of unusual case, unusual dial, and unusual movement. We have seen only a small handful of men's and lady's size Elgin gilt movements with similar engraving detail to this.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, superb gilt tone, some small bits of oxide to regulator; dial with some scattered hls, some fading to areas of gold foil numerals, very small chip at lower-left rim of seconds-register hole, few very small edge flakes under bezel; fine hands with oxide; case shows very little wear, mild diffuse compression type dent toward upper-right of flat surface of rear, enamel detail substantially intact though with some areas of loss with the primary being some of the white perimeter flowers of front and rear, case front and rear open a bit short of 90 degrees (to approximately 80 degrees each); tight bow, crown shows hardly any wear; good glass crystal.
